* Until 1230 AM CDT.
* At 803 PM CDT, doppler radar and automated rain gauges continued to indicate slow-moving, heavy thunderstorms which have produced up to 2 inches of rain across a narrow corridor from near Walnut to near Mendota to near Norway. These thunderstorms are expected to continue producing rain rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour. HAZARD...Flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Rapid-onset flooding of creeks, streams, drainage ditches, streets, underpasses, low-lying areas, and other poor drainage areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Ottawa, Peru, La Salle, Sandwich, Mendota, Marseilles, Amboy, Sheridan, Shabbona, Lake Holiday, Oglesby, Seneca, Somonauk, Earlville, Waterman, North Utica, Serena, Leland, Paw Paw and Grand Ridge. LaSalle County Emergency Management has reported that street flooding has recently begun in Mendota. As heavy rainfall continues, street flooding will occur in additional areas and potentially increase in severity.
