Mayor & IMPD Leadership to Debut New Recruiting Commercial & Kick off “Join IMPD Week”

INDIANAPOLIS – Today, Mayor Joe Hogsett, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Chief Randal Taylor and several other members of IMPD’s leadership came together to debut the department’s new recruiting commercial.

“This new advertisement shows the faces of a department that cares deeply about its community, that works to keep neighbors safe and secure. They are the faces of our city’s protectors,” said Mayor Hogestt. “I invite everyone who wants to help create a more peaceful and prosperous Indianapolis to come and join them.”

The commercial highlights what it means to be an IMPD officer and the various benefits and opportunities available within the department. The 30-second ad can be seen on various local and cable networks, during primetime events and shows and on several websites.

“This commercial allows our community to see those who consistently serve our city. In just 30 seconds, viewers get a sense of what it means to be an IMPD officer and learn about various benefits and opportunities offered within the department,” said Chief Taylor.

The commercial debut is the same day “Join IMPD” week kicks off with daily events aimed at recruiting sworn officers and professional staff employees. Throughout the week, community members are invited to come learn about the department, the hiring process, and the benefits to joining the department and serving their community.

“This week, residents can expect our recruiters to be in every neighborhood at various places ready to share what the IMPD is about and the opportunities available to new officers I encourage anyone considering a career of service to consider this important line of work for our city,” said Commander Community Engagement & Outreach Bureau Ida Williams.
