Norwalk, Calif. – On May 5, 2023, one person was arrested for driving into a DUI Checkpoint under the influence of a controlled substance and two drivers were cited for driving into a DUI Checkpoint without a driver’s license.
The DUI checkpoint was held on Alondra Boulevard near Longworth Avenue. The DUI Checkpoint started at 6 p.m. and concluded at 2 a.m.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
