Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male adult.
Deputies from East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station responded to the 6500 block of South Flotilla Street, in the city of Commerce regarding a business disturbance. They were told a male transient was underneath a cargo trailer inside the lot. Deputies responded and attempted to wake up the male, but he was unresponsive. Los Angeles County Fire Paramedics were called to the scene and the male was pronounced deceased.
Deputies waited for the Los Angeles County Coroners Office personnel to arrive. Once on scene, the Coroner discovered the male had a gunshot wound to his upper torso. Homicide Bureau Investigators were called to the scene.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at approximately 3:00 PM.
