Ashland PD Traffic Alert for the Railroad Run Saturday, May 13, 2023
The annual Ashland Railroad Run will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2023. The Ashland Police Department will begin temporarily closing roads starting at 7:30 a.m.
The course will include South Center Street (west side of the tracks only) and go as far west as South James Street and the Lankford’s Crossing subdivision; and as far south as Gwathmey Church Road.
Southbound South Center Street will be closed throughout the Run between Myrtle Street and Ashcake Road. Ashcake Road will be closed intermittently at South Center Street (railroad crossing).
Motorists may expect delays while traveling through the following areas: Center Street between Gwathmey Church Road, Ashcake Road and Myrtle Street, roadways throughout the Ashland Historic District, Duncan Street, Hanover Avenue and the Lankford’s Crossing subdivision.
These delays will be temporary. Ashland police officers, Hanover County Sheriff’s deputies and volunteers will be posted throughout the course to assist motorists transiting the course.
