Full Notification

On the evening of May 8 at approximately 9pm, SVPD officers responded to a shooting which took place in the 1300 block of Arcane St.  On arrival, a subject was found in the street who had suffered a gunshot wound to the neck area.  While conducting the initial response, a second gunshot wound victim arrived at the Simi Valley Hospital who had suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest.  This victim was transported by parties who fled the hospital prior to law enforcement notification.  Both gunshot wound victims were eventually transported to Los Robles Hospital where they remain in critical, but stable condition.

A subject voluntarily identified themselves to initial responding officers as the person who shot these two individuals.  He was detained and has cooperated with SVPD Detectives who have taken on the investigation.  As of this writing, the shooting incident stemmed from a physical confrontation between a group of individuals and the shooter; however, more details are being sought and the investigation is continuing.  No arrests have been made at this time.

All parties involved in this incident are identified and their names are being withheld at this time due to the ongoing nature of this investigation.
