On May 12, 2023, at approximately 5:45 pm, the Simi Valley Police Department received a report of a shot fired in the 1600 block of Buyers St. Upon arrival SVPD officers determined that the suspect, later identified as 44 year old Esteban Solis of Simi Valley had a verbal argument with his wife and subsequently discharged his firearm inside the residence, striking the ceiling.
The suspect was arrested and booked into the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Pre-Trial Detention Facility for Felony Discharge of a firearm in a Grossly Negligent Manner. The Simi Valley Police Detective Bureau wrote a search warrant and later seized several rifles and firearms from the residence.
