Single Vehicle Injury Crash 
Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that deputies of the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a single vehicle crash on M60 Hwy and Hospital St. at approximately 0513 hours on 05/13/2023.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Hospital St. / M60, Jefferson Township, Cass County, Michigan. The investigation showed, a vehicle driven by Zachary Friske 20yo from Cassopolis, was attempting to stop at the intersection of Hospital St. / M60. Due to the wet roads, Friske was unable to stop at the intersection, crossed M60 and went into a ditch against a line of trees.
Friske was transported to Lakeland Niles Hospital for injuries sustained in the traffic crash. His passenger, a 17yo from Dowagiac was not injured.
Assisting agencies on scene: Cass Fire department and Pride Care Ambulance.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. Investigation determined Friske was not wearing a seat belt. The crash remains under investigation.
