Flood Advisory until 01:15PM

* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following county, Crockett.

* WHEN...Until 115 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1010 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause arroyo and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Ozona, The Intersection Of I-10 And Highway 405, The Intersection Of Ranch Road 2083 And Highway 405, The Intersection Of Highway 163 And Ranch Road 1973, The Intersection Of I-10 And Highway 290 and Ft Lancaster. - This includes the following highways... Interstate 10 between Mile Markers 331 and 379. This includes the following Low Water Crossings... crossings along SH 163, Live Oak crossing Live Oak Creek, Live Oak Road crossing Live Oak Creek, crossings along County Road 411, crossings along The Pecos River and crossings along County Road 401. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.
