Virginia Street is now open for normal traffic. And a correction on the location of the shooting, 3102 Julian. Officers were called to the apartments on Virginia and when they arrived were told the incident happened at the apartments on Julian that can be seen from Virginia.

On Monday, May 15, 2023, at 4:57Pm, Officers were sent to the apartments at 1025 S. Virginia on a possible shooting. When officers arrived they were told by witnesses that multiple people had been shot, but they found no victims on scene. A short time later officers were notified that 2 victims had arrived at 2 area hospitals by private vehicle. Both victims had gunshot wounds and officers were told it occurred on Virginia. CSI and Violent Crimes detectives are on scene still working this incident. Virginia Street is closed between Plains and Julian and residents in the area are being asked to take a different route until the road is reopened. We will send an update when the road has been opened to normal traffic. There are no suspects in custody at this time, but police do not believe there to be any danger to the public from this incident.
