IMPD Homicide Detectives Arrest Two Individuals for Weekend Homicide 
IMPD Homicide Detectives arrested 29-year-old Vincent McCurtis and 23-year-old Brandon Jackson for their alleged roles in Sunday’s murder.
On Sunday, May 14, 2023, at approximately 6:30 pm, IMPD Southwest District officers responded to the 1700 block of Howard Street to investigate a report of a person assaulted. After arriving, they located an adult male inside a residence with injuries consistent with trauma. There were also several ther people inside the house at that time. The victim was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.
IMPD homicide detectives responded to investigate. As a result of their investigation, detectives arrested Vincent McCurtis and Brandon Jackson for attempted murder. IMPD would like to thank the ultiple citizens who cooperated in this investigation and provided crucial information to detectives
The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency assisted with the identification and collection of evidence.
On Monday, May 15, 2023, the victim passed away as a result of his injuries. The Marion County Coroner’s Office responded. They will determine the cause and manner of death and identify the victim after next of kin notification is made.
The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make the final charging decisions. Arrests are merely accusations. Both suspects should be considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
