INCIDENT: P.C.664/187 Attempted Murder
LOCATION: 37000 Block of Coyote Lake Road, Newberry Springs
SUSPECT: Esiquio Hernandez, 26-years-old, Resident of Newberry Springs
SUMMARY: On Friday, May 12, 2023, at approximately 7:37 p.m., Deputy Skiver was dispatched to the 37000 block of Coyote Lake in Newberry Springs, for assault with a deadly weapon.
Upon arrival, Deputy Skiver located the victim with visible gunshot wounds. Deputy Skiver provided immediate medical aid. Due to Deputy Skiver’s swift action in providing medical aid the victim is expected to recover.
Through investigation, deputies learned Esiquio Hernandez pointed a black revolver and shot the victim several times. Hernandez left the scene prior to deputies arriving. Deputy Hancock, authored a search warrant for the residence and an arrest warrant for Hernandez.
On May 13, 2023, at approximately 6:30 a.m., deputies located Hernandez walking on Twin Lakes Drive in Newberry Springs. Hernandez was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center.
