 The Simi Valley Police Department would like to inform the community that we have received numerous phone calls today regarding a scam. Several residents have received phone calls from what appears to be the Simi Valley Police Department (phone number spoofed) indicating that they have missed jury duty and there is now a warrant out for their arrest. The caller (impersonating a Police Officer) then asks for money or to meet at the Police Station. Please be aware that this is not the Simi Valley Police Department. It is not our practice to contact residents by phone regarding these matters.

  If you receive one of these calls, do not send money or provide credit card information to someone you do not personally know and trust. Never give out your personal information, including banking information, Social Security Number or other personally identifiable information over the phone or to individuals you do not know. 

  The Simi Valley Police Department is well aware of this scam. If you have fallen victim to this scam by giving out your personal information or providing money over the phone, please call our non-emergency number at 805-583-6950.
