UPDATE to Adam's Drive fire on May 7 2023.
UPDATE:
The Maple Shade Police Department reports that as a result of the residential fire on Adams Drive on May 7, 2023, Alan John Marles age 12 and his sister Hope Marles age 7 have died. Their mother, Shannon Marles age 35 is currently hospitalized in stable condition.
Organs and tissues from both of the children have been donated to the “Gift of Life Donor Program” giving others the opportunity to live.
The origins of the fire are still under investigation by the Burlington County Fire Marshall’s Office along with the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and the Maple Shade Police Department.
Burlington County Communications dispatched Fire and Police for an apartment fire on the unit block of Adams Drive in the Fox Meadow Apartment Complex at 10:26PM. Upon arrival police units found heavy smoke and fire coming from the roof of the apartments. Police began evacuating residents of Adams Drive. The Maple Shade Fire Department arrived on location as well as numerous fire departments from local jurisdictions. The fire was announced to be under control at 11:42PM. As a result of the fire, six (6) subjects were transported to area hospitals. A total of sixteen (16) apartment units were damaged, the American Red Cross is on location assisting the displaced residents.
The fire is still under investigation and is being investigated by the State Fire Marshalls Office, The Burlington County Fire Marshalls Office, the Maple Shade Fire Department, Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and the Maple Shade Police Department.
