Absecon Police Arrest Two on Separate First-Degree Offenses Within 48 hours
On Tuesday, May 16, 2023, Absecon Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on U.S. Route 30. An investigation led to the discovery of a large amount of narcotics, including suspected cocaine and numerous wax folds believed to be heroin.
The amount and weight of the narcotics and additional evidence found during the investigation, was consistent with narcotic distribution. The driver, Leroy W. Clark, was arrested, charged and later lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
Arrested: Leroy W. Clark (43) of Ewing, NJ
Charges: 1st Degree Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, 3rd Degree Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
On Wednesday, May 17, 2023, the Absecon Police Department was called to the Home Depot for a report of an assault. Patrol officers learned that a male was sitting inside his vehicle when another male entered it.
A struggle ensued where the accused assaulted the victim and briefly took possession of the victim’s car. The victim suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment.
Absecon Police arrested the accused, Trent Heinrichs, and charged him with numerous offenses, later lodging him in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

Charges: 1st Degree Carjacking, 2nd Degree Aggravated Assault, 4th Degree Aggravated Assault on Police, 4th Degree Obstruction and Resisting Arrest.
