Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Theft Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help with identifying the below-pictured suspect, who stole $2,300 from a money drop bag at Walgreens on May 4, 2023.
Police officers responded to the theft, which occurred at approximately 6:36 p.m. at Walgreens, located in the 300 block of Bergen Street. The suspect, captured on surveillance video, walked into the Walgreens and took the money out of a blue bag from behind the register in the photo department. He left the store and entered a light-colored minivan, possibly a Chrysler Town & Country.
The suspect, an older Black male, possibly 45-50 years old, was wearing a grey bucket hat, a blue coat, light-colored jeans, and black and white sneakers.
