On May 20, 2023 2 cited for driving with suspended/revoked license, 22 cited for driving without a license, 1 cited for child not in a car seat and 1 cited for open container. at a DUI checkpoint.
The DUI checkpoint was held at Palmdale Bl / 15th Street East from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. 24 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, 1130 vehicles were contacted. DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes.
The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
