Janesville Police Department Accreditation Assessment
The Janesville Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to achieve re-accreditation by verifying it meets professional standards.
Administered by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group (WILEAG), the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.
As part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and the public are invited to offer comments by calling 608.373.3485 on May 24, 2023 between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Comments will be taken by the WILEAG Assessment Team assigned to conduct this assessment.
Telephone comments are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with WILEAG’s standards. A copy of the standards is available for review at the Janesville Police Department front desk. The local contact is Lieutenant Mark Ratzlaff at 608.755.3044.
Anyone wishing to submit written comments about the Janesville Police Department’s ability to comply with the standards for accreditation may send them to the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group at the following address:
