Newark Police Chief Emanuel Miranda, Sr., Youth Services Commander Lieutenant J. Henriques and Lieutenant W. Wilson, hosted Southern California Police Officer Ryan Tillman at West Side High School and at Central High School. Officer Tillman, through his organization Breaking Barriers United, travels nationwide speaking to students in order to bridge the barrier between youth and police. He successfully engages students in scenarios that help them experience the types of incidents police encounter.
