Attend the Memorial Day Parade tomorrow
Hoboken’s 123rd Annual Memorial Day Parade is scheduled to take place tomorrow, May 24. The parade, hosted by American Legion Post 107 and the City of Hoboken, will assemble at 6 p.m. and step off at 6:30 p.m. marching from City Hall at 94 Washington St. north on Washington Street to the viewing stand at the Hoboken Elks Lodge at 10th and Washington Streets.
Washington Street will be closed between Observer Highway and 11th Street from approximately 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the annual Memorial Day Parade. NJ Transit buses will be diverted to Hudson Street and Bloomfield Street at that time. Drivers and Hop riders can expect delays and traffic to be re-routed during that time. Drivers should also take note of posted Temporary No Parking signage.
HPD's 2023 Click it or ticket campaign
The Hoboken Police Department kicked off the 2023 "Click It or Ticket" campaign on Monday.
The mobilization, which runs through Sunday, June 4, coincides with Memorial Day Weekend and the start of the busy summer travel season. Hoboken officers will operate roving patrols targeting and ticketing unbuckled drivers and passengers. The Police Department will also be utilizing signage and other publicity efforts to reiterate the life-saving value of seat belts.
Hoboken's 2022 Click It or Ticket campaign resulted in 82 summonses, 29 of which were for seatbelt related violations. This year's participation is being funded by a $8,750 grant awarded by New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin.
