School Zone Lights for 5/23/2023 
The 2022-2023 school year will conclude today, Tuesday, May 23, 2023, for students of Clovis Municipal Schools, with the dismissal of students taking place at regular times – between the hours of 2-3:45 p.m. – depending on grade level.
The flashing lights near our campuses which identify school zones will not be operational this afternoon, however school zones and 15 mph speed limits remain in effect until after 3:45 p.m.
As a result, motorists may notice an increased law enforcement presence on the routes near our campuses.
We ask that our community assist us in ensuring a safe dismissal for our students as we prepare to enter the summer break.
Motorists are expected to exercise caution when driving near schools in the community:
– Watch for crossing guards and students crossing roadways or walking
– Follow directions given by crossing guards, staff members and buses
– Adhere to speed limits in school zones regardless of whether lights are operating
Motorists who exceed posted speed limits, or disregard directions from school personnel and/or traffic signs are subject to penalties as established by law.
