Memorial Day Parade/Highland Park Road Closures (5/29/23)
Highland Park and New Brunswick will be sponsoring a Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 29th, beginning at 11:00 a.m. The parade will begin in New Brunswick and proceed up Route 27 (Raritan Avenue) around 11:30 a.m. The parade will continue into Highland Park and conclude at the Doughboy Monument (where Route 27 & Woodbridge Avenue converge). After the parade, there will be a brief ceremony at the Doughboy Monument to honor those that have fallen.
ROAD CLOSURES
This is a traffic advisory for Memorial Day, which falls on Monday, May 29th.
Highland Park and New Brunswick will jointly be hosting a Memorial Day parade. The parade will begin in New Brunswick and turn onto Route 27 (Raritan Avenue). The parade will continue into Highland Park and conclude at the Doughboy Monument (where Route 27 and Woodbridge Avenue converge). After the parade, there will be a brief ceremony at the Doughboy Monument to honor those that have fallen.
The parade is scheduled to arrive in Highland Park around 11:00 a.m. Vehicles will be restricted from traveling on Route 27 during the parade. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area of Route 27 between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
In order to prepare for the parade, parking will be restricted on Route 27 on May 29th from 6 a.m. until the conclusion of the parade. Please ensure you are not parked on Route 27 or your vehicle may be towed.
