Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 08:15PM Wednesday

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Northern Roosevelt County in east central New Mexico... Southeastern Quay County in east central New Mexico... Curry County in east central New Mexico...

* Until 815 PM MDT.

* At 720 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles south of Broadview, or 18 miles north of Clovis, moving east at 60 mph. THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR MUCH OF CURRY COUNTY. HAZARD...90 mph wind gusts and two inch hail. SOURCE...Public. IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris may be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged or destroyed. Homes and businesses will have substantial roof and window damage. Expect extensive tree damage and power outages.

* Locations impacted include... Clovis, Tucumcari, Melrose, San Jon, Grady, Saint Vrain, Ragland, Glenrio, Ranchvale and Cannon Air Force Base. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 334 and 373. Highway 60 between Mile Markers 369 and 394.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CURRY, NM ... QUAY, NM ... ROOSEVELT, NM

Instructions:

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. This storm is producing large hail. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows! This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION with tornado like wind speeds expected. Mobile homes and high profile vehicles may be overturned. Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. This storm has the potential to cause serious injury and significant property damage.
