Newark Department of Public Safety’s Office of Emergency Management Offers Free Community Emergency Response Training
The Newark Department of Public Safety’s Office of Emergency Management is accepting applications for it’s next CERT Class, which begins at 6 p.m., Wednesday, June 7, 2023. The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program is a nationally supported, locally implemented initiative, that teaches people how to better prepare for hazards that may affect their communities.
Training is open to Newark residents age 18+ and is 8 weeks long. The program is physically intensive and applicants must pass a background check.
