Holiday schedule announced; Early voting reminder; Free rabies clinic announced; & more

Holiday closures announced 

In observance of Memorial Day, municipal offices will be closed on Monday, May 29. 

Street cleaning will be suspended on Monday. All other parking regulations, including parking meters, will be enforced. 

Hop shuttle service will be suspended on Monday, May 29, in recognition of the holiday.   

Waste collection and recycling will occur as regularly scheduled. 

Early voting starts June 2 

In-person early voting for the June 6 Primary Election will begin on Friday, June 2.  

Hoboken City Hall’s first floor conference room is the City’s polling location for early voting. Registered voters can vote in person by entering City Hall through the Newark Street entrance on Friday, June 2, and Saturday, June 3, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. or on Sunday, June 4 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

Registered voters may submit a mail-in ballot application to the Hudson County Clerk's Office at 257 Cornelison Ave. in person until June 5 at 3 p.m.  

Mail-in ballots can be submitted via secure drop-boxs located at Sixth and Huson Streets and at City Hall, 94 Washington St., near the Newark Street entrance until June 6, at 8 p.m. Ballots can also be submitted via mail. Mailed ballots must be postmarked by June 6 to be valid.

A State Senate seat and two State Assembly seats are on the ballot, as are Hudson County Executive, Hudson County Commissioner, and two Hudson County Committee positions.

Free rabies clinic on Saturday 

The City of Hoboken will host its annual free rabies vaccination clinic for residents with dogs or cats on Saturday, June 3 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Multi-Service Center at 124 Grand St. All pets must be securely fastened on a leash or in a carrier and dogs should have a dog license. Dog licenses can be obtained at the clinic. Licenses payments must be made in cash only. Dog license applications are also available online at https://www.hobokennj.gov/resources/dog-licenses.

Public hearing on draft 2023 CDBG Annual Action Plan announced  

The City of Hoboken will host a public hearing on the draft 2023 Community Development Block Grant Annual Action Plan during the June 21 Hoboken City Council meeting, at 7 p.m., at 94 Washington St.  

Hoboken community members can submit comments on the draft action plan via email to Marc Leckington, the City’s CDBG consultant at [email protected]. Comments must be submitted by June 20.

Attend extended office hours with Hoboken's social workers

While the City's social workers make rounds throughout the City on a regular basis, the Office of Constituent Services will have extended office hours with Hoboken’s social workers on Tuesday, June 13, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at City Hall, 94 Washington St. 

Hoboken's social workers help residents connect with community resources for mental health concerns, those experiencing homelessness, and those facing food insecurity, and much more. 

Attendees should enter City Hall from the Newark Street entrance. No appointment is required.
