New Atkins Avenue Water Spray Park Ribbon Cutting Monday, 6/5 at 12pm 
The Department of Community & Cultural Affairs will be hosting a ribbon cutting for the newly upgraded Atkins Avenue Water Spray Park on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 12pm.
The water spray park, located at 305 Atkins Avenue behind Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Upper Elementary School, received $376,000 in Community Development Block Grant funding to upgrade 25-year-old equipment and infrastructure. Upgrades include the addition of a Lightning Detection System which will shut off water to equipment when lighting is detected in the vicinity, canopy installation, updated equipment and water activities, including a new play area for toddlers, and the addition of picnic tables and benches.
