2021 Indianapolis Homicide Suspect Arrested in Los Angeles

INDIANAPOLIS –Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Homicide Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for a suspect who was later located in Los Angeles, California.
On Monday, June 28, 2021, just after 11:30 p.m., IMPD East District officers were dispatched to the 9800 block of Woodsmall Drive on a report of a personal injury crash. When officers arrived, they located two adult males inside a vehicle who sustained injuries consistent with a gunshot wound(s). The males were later identified as 22-year-old Justice Wills and 18-year-old Eric Colvin. IEMS arrived, and unfortunately, both victims were pronounced deceased at the scene.
IMPD Homicide detectives responded to the scene to begin their part of the investigation. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist in identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner’s Office assisted and determined the exact manner and cause of death.
Detectives continued working on this case and established probable cause to arrest 33-year-old Lamar Ball for his alleged role in this incident. On October 12, 2022, detectives working with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office were granted through the courts an arrest warrant for Ball for the charge of murder.
On May 23, 2023, The Unites States Marshall Service working with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) was able to locate Ball in Los Angeles. Ball was apprehended after he fled from officers. Two LAPD officers were injured during the incident. Ball has outstanding charges in Los Angeles for his alleged actions there.
An arrest is merely an accusation and Ball should be considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
