Newark Police Visit Science Park High School

Newark Police Community Affairs/Clergy Unit Detective B. Holmes made a presentation to students at Science Park High School about the importance of positive representation, which helps individuals develop confidence, self-esteem and the respect for cultural differences. 4th Precinct Community Service Officer K. Eley and 5th Precinct Police Officer T. Davis also participated in the event and responded to the students’ questions relating to experience and bridging the gap with the community.

The event included students of the Gender and Sexuality Alliance, Women’s Studies class, and students who opted to attend during their lunch period. The students were also provided pride giveaways and Newark Department of Public Safety literature.

Reginald Bledsoe, Director of the Essex County Office LGBTQ Affairs, along with Ryan and Nana, NJCRI’S Project Wow Youth Center, attended the event to provide the students words of wisdom and community resources. #newarknj #publicsafety #police #community #partnership #newjersey #cops #tips #CrimeStoppers
