Sonora Downtown Lions Club Memorial Day Flag Retirement Ceremony 
Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States that is observed annually on the last Monday of May. It was originally called Decoration Day and was established after the Civil War to commemorate the Union and Confederate soldiers who died in the war. The holiday was extended after World War I to honor all Americans who have died while in military service.
The Sonora Lions club will be honoring all who have served and who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our Nation’s wars on Monday, May 29th, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Liberty Park. This special service will also include a United States Flag Retirement ceremony.
Please join us as we honor and celebrate the lives of our brave Veterans how have served and continue to serve our great Nation.
