INCIDENT: PC 220(b) – Assault with Intent to Rape, PC 459 – Burglary, PC 287 – Oral Copulation
LOCATION: 15400 block of Straight Arrow Rd, Apple Valley
VICTIM(S): 36-year-old female of Apple Valley
SUSPECT(S): Clarence Willie Rush, 22-year-old male of Apple Valley
SUMMARY: On Friday, March 10, 2023, at approximately 2:25 a.m., sheriff’s dispatch received a call reporting a rape which had just occurred. Deputies responded and contacted the victim. Deputies learned a male subject had entered the victim’s residence through a window, assaulted the victim and forced the victim to perform oral copulation. Detectives were notified of the incident and responded to assist with the investigation.
During the investigation of this incident, another sexual assault was reported on March 28, 2023. This sexual assault resulted in the arrest of the suspect, Willie Clarence Rush. As part of the investigation, DNA was obtained from the suspect after his arrest. The DNA results confirmed Rush as the offender in the first sexual assault.
Rush, who was still in custody at West Valley Detention Center for the second sexual assault, was supplementally booked for the charges in this case. Rush is being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail.
