Wilmington Police Cold Case Unit requests public assistance in connection to 2019 murder of Hakeem Smalls: 
The Wilmington Police Department’s Cold Case Unit is asking for the assistance of the public in connection to the 2019 murder of Hakeem Smalls.
On September 27, 2019 at approximately 11:39 p.m., police were dispatched to the 2500 block of North Monroe Street in reference to a call for shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located 25-year-old Hakeem Smalls, who had been shot and later succumbed to his injuries.
This investigation remains ongoing, and investigators are asking the public for assistance.
