INCIDENT: PC 459: BURGLARY
HS 11377(a): POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE
LOCATION: 4050 Phelan Road, Phelan
SUSPECT: Robert Silas Wayne Cottle, 22-years-old, resident of Phelan
Joel Burrola, 30-years-old, resident of New Mexico
SUMMARY: On Thursday, May 25, 2023, deputies arrested Robert Silas Wayne Cottle and Joel Burrola for burglary and possession of methamphetamine. Cottle and Burrola conspired to burglarize the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department - Search and Rescue Division's storage container and the Medicine Shop’s shed, both located directly behind the Phelan Sheriff’s Station.
On Thursday, May 25, 2023, Cottle cut the locks off the buildings and removed the property inside. Burrola waited nearby in his truck until Cottle signaled him to drive up. The two loaded the stolen items into the truck and drove away.
Through the investigation, Deputies M. Leiker and C. Lopez were able to identify the suspects. Cottle and Burrola were later located, and the stolen items were found inside the truck. Both suspects were also found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
