Deputies Rescue Man from House Fire in Apple Valley

VICTIM(S): 50-year-old Male Resident of Apple Valley
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at approximately 9:45 a.m., Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call of a house fire in the Jess Ranch Community of Apple Valley.
Deputies and fire department personnel were dispatched to a residence in the 19200 block of Palm Road in Apple Valley. Deputy Ernesto Madrigal was the first emergency unit to arrive on scene and found the front of the residence on fire.
Deputy Madrigal quickly went to the rear of the residence to check for occupants. Although the residence was engulfed with smoke, Deputy Madrigal entered the residence and began calling out to anyone who might be inside. A disabled male subject emerged from a bedroom and Deputy Madrigal assisted and guided him out of the residence to safety.
There were no other occupants in the home and the fire department extinguished the fire.
