On May 12, 2023, at approximately 4:28 pm, Fremont Police dispatch received a 9-1-1 call regarding a collision at Kato Road and Auburn Street. The reporting party advised that the collision involved a single vehicle, and the driver was unresponsive. Fremont Police and Fire Personnel arrived and provided medical aid to the driver. The driver was transported to a local trauma center. Several days later, Fremont Police Department was informed by the coroner’s office that the driver, a 57-year-old woman, had passed away. Alcohol was a factor at the time of the collision. The Alameda Coroner’s Office will determine the cause of her death.
