The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Curry County in east central New Mexico... De Baca County in east central New Mexico... Southern Quay County in east central New Mexico... Northern Roosevelt County in east central New Mexico... North Central Chaves County in southeastern New Mexico...

* Until 430 AM MDT.

* At 1228 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain between Fort Sumner, Clovis and Portales. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen in portions of the warned area. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Clovis, Portales, Fort Sumner, Quay, Melrose, Elida, Grady, House, Tolar, Taiban, Saint Vrain, Ragland, Ranchvale, Cannon Air Force Base, Oasis State Park, Wheatland, Broadview, Bellview, Floyd and Mcalister. This includes the following highways... Highway 60 between Mile Markers 315 and 397.
