Folsom Police Department Wraps Up STAKE Grant- Final Month 
Folsom, Calif. – Folsom Police Department STAKE Grant comes to an end.
STAKE is the Stop Tobacco Access to Kids Enforcement Grant program which funds personnel time for sworn officers and administrative staff to perform tobacco education and enforcement activities.
It is illegal for a retailer in the United States to sell any tobacco product, including cigarettes, cigars, and e-cigarettes to anyone under 21.
Accomplishments for the final quarter:
• Minor decoy operations scheduled for no less than twenty Folsom tobacco retailers. No cashiers have sold to the decoy at this time.
• Shoulder tap operation scheduled to be conducted outside of no less than six Folsom tobacco retailers. Three citizens have agreed to purchase tobacco for the minor decoy and were issued citations.
The grant programs will run until July 1, 2023.
Funding for this program is from the California Department of Public Health through the Food and Drug Branch Tobacco Enforcement Section. For more information see the California Healthcare, Research, and Prevention Tobacco Tax Act of 2016, Proposition 56.
