INCIDENT: Search Warrant Served In Response to Elder Abuse and Grand Theft Report
LOCATION: 1000 block of W Aeroplane Blvd, Big Bear City
SUSPECT(S): Latasha Whiteside, 44 Year-Old Resident of San Bernardino
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On May 28, 2023, Latasha Whiteside visited a 68 year-old friend in the 300 block of W Fairway Blvd, Big Bear City. While Whiteside was inside the victim's residence, she went into a locked safe without the victim's permission and stole a firearm, several thousand dollars in cash, and multiple electronics. The victim also reported Whiteside had stolen several thousand dollars worth of property throughout the previous years.
On June 2, 2023, deputies assigned to the Big Bear Multiple Enforcement Team (MET) served a search warrant at a residence in the city of San Bernardino, after the investigation led them to believe the stolen items were at the location. MET deputies located the stolen firearm and packaging for the electronics. Additionally, deputies located approximately one ounce of suspected fentanyl, a scale, and items indicative of narcotic sales.
Whiteside is currently outstanding and a felony warrant has been issued for her arrest.
