ACCUSED: 18-year-old male, Asbury Park, NJ
 
NARRATIVE:
 
On June 4, 2023, at approximately 3:30pm Deal officers were dispatched to the area of Monmouth Drive and Ocean Ave for a report of a subject trespassing in a driveway of a private residence and looking into vehicles. Officers were provided a description of the accused and were able to locate and arrest an 18-year-old male out of Asbury Park.  The subject was found to be in possession of a knife during the arrest.
 
The accused was transported to Deal Police Headquarters for processing and charging.  The accused was subsequently charged with one count each of trespassing, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.  In accordance with bail reform guidelines, the accused was released on a summons pending a court date.  The Deal Police Department reminds the public to always lock your vehicles when you are not with them and to report any suspicious activity to the police immediately.
