Fort Branch man arrested for resisting law enforcement.

On June 2, 2023, at 4:40 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a 911 report of a male who was stumbling around the 200 block of South McCreary Street in Fort Branch.  Upon arriving on scene officers located 50 year old Barry Flener of Fort Branch in an obviously intoxicated state.  While attempting to arrange for a family member to come take Mr. Flener home he became belligerent and attempted to evade officers.  At that point a scuffle ensued and Deputy Michael Owens placed Mr. Flener into custody.  Once Mr. Flener was secured he was ultimately transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Resisting Law Enforcement and Public Intoxication.  He has since posted a $650 bond.

Assisting Deputy Owens in his investigation was Fort Branch Officer Jeff Beck and Haubstadt Officer Josh Hoover.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
