Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé requests the public help in locating the below pictured Lexus, which was repossessed on June 3, 2023 and stolen a day later on June 4, 2023.
Police responded to the incident, which occurred at approximately 5:50 a.m. from a business lot on Whitney Street in Newark. The owner of the business, Commercial Service Corporation, repossessed a black 2018 Lexus GS, pictured below, from 22 Central Avenue in West Orange on June 3, 2023. The vehicle, bearing New Jersey registration Z80PBU, was then transported to the company’s business lot on Whitney Street. A day later, on June 4, a Black male with braided hair was captured on surveillance video jumping over a wall adjacent to the business and entering the property.
The man was wearing black-colored pants and a black sweatshirt with a hood that had “Anti-Social Club” written on the back of the sweatshirt. He entered the Lexus, then waited inside until employees arrived at 6:45 a.m. When they opened the gates, the man sped off in the vehicle.
