A lengthy investigation by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Major Crimes - Financial Crimes Unit led to the arrest of Tina Louise Torres for seventeen (17) felony counts of 487(a) PC / Grand Theft and eight (8) felony counts of 471 PC / Make, Forge, or Alter a Document. In 2019, Torres was employed as the Manager of Limoneira Federal Credit Union. Torres was responsible for the bookkeeping of the business. While employed, Torres used her position of trust to embezzle money and forge documents to defraud Limoneira Federal Credit Union. Torres continued her criminal behavior until her theft was uncovered by a financial audit. Her employment was terminated in August 2019. Investigators believe Torres stole just over two hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($250,000.00) from Limoneira Federal Credit Union, between January 2016 and August 2019. Torres was arrested in Ojai on June 6, 2023 at 10:15 AM. Torres was booked into the Pre-Trial Detention Facility. Torres’ bail has been set at $40,000.00 |
