On June 1st, 2023 the Angels-Murphys Rotary Club honored the outstanding achievements of several local first responders.  The Sheriff’s Office is very appreciative of this annual event and the opportunity to recognize the commitment and service of our deputies.  The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce that Deputy Austin Keathley has been awarded the prestigious "Deputy of the Year” award. This well-deserved recognition was presented to Deputy Austin Keathley by Sheriff Rick DiBasilio.
Deputy Keathley has displayed exemplary dedication, commitment, and professionalism throughout his service within the department. Joining as a Correctional Officer in October 2020, he quickly transitioned to become a sworn deputy in August 2021, serving in a patrol capacity. In addition to his outstanding work on patrol duties, Deputy Keathley has also made significant contributions as a member of our Dive Team and Search and Rescue Team. His willingness to go above and beyond, even in the most challenging situations, exemplifies his dedication to public safety.
