Construction activities for the Seward Highway MP 0-8 Pavement Preservation Project will move from nighttime hours to daytime hours beginning Thursday, June 8. The hours for conducting the work will fall between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. Moving the construction activities to the daytime will result in road closures along sections of Third Avenue (Seward Highway) over the course of construction. Please be aware that detours will be established to help people traveling within the downtown area to navigate around the construction work. The City appreciates the Department of Transportation and QAP for their willingness to change their work schedules to meet the City’s noise ordinance, which requires “quiet time” each day beginning at 10 p.m. and ending at 7 a.m. We will continue to share any project details that may affect traffic flow in the coming days and weeks.
