On June 5, 2023, around 3:45PM, a Novato patrol officer was flagged down by a concerned community member about an incident that had just occurred at Great Donuts in the Square Shopping Center (2011 Novato Blvd). When officers arrived to investigate, they noticed the store was in disarray and a victim involved suffered from minor injury.

According to witnesses, two people entered the donut shop. One attempted to go behind the counter and an altercation ensued with one of the employees. The man then stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and fled the scene in a white Mercedes sedan.

The Novato Police Department needs the community’s assistance identifying the suspects in this case. The man involved was described as a white man in his 20’s or 30’s with brown hair, wearing a red flannel shirt and khaki pants. His accomplice was described as a woman in her 20’s or 30’s with blonde or light brown hair, wearing a black shirt and white shoes. The woman was also described as having a large butterfly tattoo on her throat.

Investigators believe this incident is not related to the Chase Bank robbery which took place last week.
