Alert

Air Quality remains Unhealthy. City Cancellation Reminders.

The air quality in Hoboken remains at a "very unhealthy" level this morning due to particle pollution caused by wildfire smoke coming from Canada. You can get regular updates on current air quality at: https://airnow.gov,

As a reminder, the City of Hoboken has cancelled the following activities and events for today:
  • Outdoor recreation programs
  • All permitted activities on outdoor city-owned facilities
  • Southwest Resiliency Park Farmers' Market
  • Fitness in the Park
  • Concerts in the Park
The Hoboken Public Library and Hoboken Public School District have also cancelled all outdoor activities for today.

The NJ Department of Health recommends that sensitive populations, including the elderly, infants and young children, and people with lung and heart disease remain indoors with doors and windows closed. To reduce exposure, all residents should:
  • Avoid strenuous activities and limit time being active outdoors.
  • If you must be outside, take indoor breaks.
  • Keep windows and doors closed to prevent breathing in harmful particles.
  • Do not use candles, vacuum, or smoke. This can all add pollution to the air.

Instructions:

Sensitive populations should remain indoors. All should limit outdoor activities. Keep doors and windows shut.
