Air Quality Alert & Tips
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Code Red Air Quality Alert continuing through at least 9:00am on Friday. A Code Red Air Quality Alert means that air quality within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards. For more information on current and forecast concentrations of ground-level ozone and fine particulates, visit www.airnow.gov or www.state.nj.us/dep/airmon.
PROTECT YOUR HEALTH when air quality is poor! Smoke from Canadian wildfires is causing poor air quality in New Jersey.
• Stay indoors whenever possible
• Avoid strenuous outdoor activity
• Keep windows and doors closed
• If an air conditioner is available run it, keep fresh-air intake closed and filter clean
• Lessen indoor pollution (candles, smoking, vaccums, etc).
• Wear an N95 mask if you must travel outside.
