June 8th Update- Air Quality In Gloucester Township Continues In The Unhealthy Range, Use Caution Outdoors
As of Thursday June 8th 10 AM: Air Now .gov is reporting the air quality in and around Gloucester Township to be in the "Unhealthy" range, due to multiple forest fires across the United States and Canada. This has moved down from earlier this morning's "Very Unhealthy" status. Tomorrow (Friday) they're predicting the status to move down to "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups".
For today: It's recommend people with heart or lung disease, older adults, children and teens – take any of these steps to reduce your exposure:
- Avoid strenuous outdoor activities.
- Keep outdoor activities short.
- Consider moving physical activities indoors or rescheduling them.
Everyone else – take any of these steps to reduce your exposure:
- Choose less strenuous activities (like walking instead of running) so you don’t breathe as hard.
- Shorten the amount of time you are active outdoors.
- Be active outdoors when air quality is better.
