Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé reports that an arrest warrant has been issued for Eugene K. Ohemeng, 28, of New York, who is wanted for stealing his repossessed Lexus from an impound lot on June 4, 2023.
At approximately 5:50 a.m., Ohemeng was captured on surveillance video jumping over a brick wall and into the impound lot of Commercial Service Corp. a repossession tow company located at 16 Whitney Street in Newark. The company repossessed Ohemeng’s vehicle, a 2018 Lexus GS, on June 3 from West Orange. It transported the vehicle, bearing license plate Z80-PBU, to the impound
lot on Whitney Street.
After Ohemeng was inside the lot on June 4, he entered his vehicle and waited for employees to arrive at 6:45 a.m. When they opened the gate, he sped off.
Ohemeng is described as 5’9’’ and 155 pounds with brown eyes, black hair, and a dark complexion.
