Red Cross invites you to a Shelter Fundamentals Course at Jackson Library on 6/17 from 9a to 3p. Learn how to help during local disasters!
The American Red Cross of Wyoming is inviting the community to participate in a special event! Join us for the Shelter Fundamentals Course at the Teton County Library in Jackson on Saturday June 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This course will teach you how to provide emergency shelter for your community in times of disaster. The Red Cross will teach you the basic standards and procedures needed to set up a shelter.
Trained Red Cross volunteers are desperately needed in Teton County, and this course is a great way to get involved. If you have ever experienced an emergency in Teton County such as a wildfire evacuation, loss of a home due to a structure fire, flood, etc. and wondered how you can help, volunteering for the Red Cross is for you. This course is great for individuals interested in assisting with sheltering during disasters, or organizations that would like to learn more about setting up an emergency shelter in their facility during a local disaster.
