On 12-09-22, at approximately 2315 hours, a robbery was reported at the Shell Gas Station located in the 300 block of Hampshire Road in the city of Thousand Oaks. Thousand Oaks patrol deputies obtained video surveillance footage confirming the robbery was committed by a Hispanic male, who battered the gas station manager during the commission of the theft and fled in a gray sedan. The video footage also captured the license plate of the suspect’s vehicle. 
 
The East County Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation, in which Anthony Hernandez was identified as the suspect. Hernandez managed to avoid detection for some time, however, in May of 2023, Hernandez was arrested by Thousand Oaks patrol deputies for hit and run, resisting arrest, and multiple narcotics related charges. In addition, Hernandez was arrested on two out of county warrants for firearms and narcotics related charges.
 
On 06-06-23, detectives from the East County Major Crimes Unit arrested and supplementally booked Hernandez for PC 211 – Robbery. Hernandez remains in custody within the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility, without bail, on one of his out of county warrants, and with a total bail amount set at $210,000.00 for his additional out of county warrant and fresh charges.
